BOSS
is a Department of the Army-sponsored program for single Soldiers,
single parents and single DoD employees. It provides single
Soldiers with the opportunity to actively participate in improving
morale, increasing self-sufficiency, and assists in the development
of tomorrows leaders. The core components of Well Being,
Recreation & Leisure, and Community Service create the
foundation of the Army BOSS Program. BOSS provides opportunities
daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly for these three components.
The
BOSS program is designed to be the collective voice for the
single Soldier. BOSS does not supersede the Chain of Command,
but it does support and compliment the Command mission.
Ultimately,
BOSS has an impact on the readiness and retention of our Soldiers
and service members.
The
BOSS program at Fort Lewis is continually working to improve
all aspects of life as a single Soldier. We meet monthly and
every unit has a BOSS representative. Participate, don't hesitate!
Single Soldiers make a very big difference! BOSS is open to
single Soldiers of all ranks, and all MWR eligible patrons.
For information on BOSS call 967-5636.

BOSS
Components
Well
Being
Well being includes those issues that Soldiers can directly
or indirectly influence to enhance their morale, living
environment, or personal growth and development. Issues
raised during BOSS meetings will be directed to the appropriate
command or staff agency for resolution on the installation.
Army-wide issues are forwarded to the Army Family Action
Plan Conference for possible DA resolution.

Recreation
and Leisure
Fun activities are planned by the BOSS council working
in conjunction with the MWR Advisor and CSM. These events
are geared towards the desires of the Single Soldiers
on that installation. View
the fun. |
Community
Service
BOSS makes a difference by volunteering in community projects
and events. This is always voluntary in nature, and Soldiers
find this to be personally rewarding. What have we done
lately? See
for yourself.
